University of Alabama head football coach Nick Saban has tested positive for COVID-19.

In an SEC teleconference Wednesday morning, according to Bama Online reporter Charlie Potter, the Crimson Tide coach said, “I was informed this morning that I had tested positive. It was a PCR test, which was different from the false positive I had before. I’m the only person in the whole organization who tested positive this round.”

Matt Zenitz, sports reporter for AL.com, reported Saban said he felt fine.

“Just a little bit of a maybe runny nose. But nothing really. I feel fine … I don’t really have any cardinal signs of the virus right now. I don’t have a fever. No loss of taste or smell. No fatigue. No muscle aches.”

University of Alabama medical director Dr. Jimmy Robinson released a statement saying Saban had mild symptoms, “so this test will not be categorized as a potential false positive.”

Saban, 68, had a false positive test in October.

No. 1 Alabama (7-0) is scheduled to host No. 22 Auburn (5-2) Saturday. Saban, Bama head coach since 2007, has led the Crimson Tide to five national championships.
