SPECIAL TEAMS

K — Corey Case

Brookhaven Academy junior kicker Corey Case is now a three-time Daily Leader All-Area selection after putting together another impressive season booting the ball in 2020. Case went 50-of-52 on PAT kicks and 4-of-5 on field goals this season for the Cougars. His long field goal was from 43 yards and Case also has the leg to put kickoffs into the endzone for touchbacks. Case also caught five passes as a wide receiver and threw for a 2-point conversion and was also an MAIS 4A All-State pick in 2020.

K — Carson Price

Junior Bogue Chitto kicker Carson Price was his same reliable self in 2020 as he went 11-for-11 on PAT kick attempts and 6-of-9 on field goal attempts with a long of 44 yards. What makes Price an All-Area level player is his kickoff skills. Bogue Chitto coach Gareth Sartin chooses to use an onside kick almost every time the BC coverage team takes the field. Because of that Price has become a wizard at using a variety of different kicks to get his team the ball back. He can pooch it, boot it, spin it, bounce it or roll the ball off his foot in ways that keep the return team guessing of what’s coming next.

P — Justin Pratt

For the second time in his career — West Lincoln senior Justin Pratt is an All-Area selection as a punter. His big year kicking the ball also earned Pratt 2020 MAC 2A All-State honors as well. Pratt punted the ball 16 times and averaged 40.4 yards per kick. Half of his punts were downed inside the 20-yard line and he had a season long kick travel 51 yards.
