Van strikes power pole near Lincoln County courthouse

Law enforcement, EMTs and fire fighters responded to a one-vehicle wreck downtown Brookhaven just before 3:30 p.m. Wednesday.
A white Ford Econoline van collided with a power pole in front of the Lincoln County-Brookhaven Governmental Complex near the corner of South First Street and Court Place.
An Entergy crew arrived shortly thereafter to assess and repair the damage to the pole and affected equipment.
The male driver of the vehicle was transported by ambulance to King’s Daughters Medical Center to be examined.
Brookhaven Fire Department Chief Jeff Ainsworth and Brookhaven police Det. Capt. Clint Earls said the cause of the wreck was unknown at the time.
