Blood drive going on downtown Brookhaven

A blood drive for Brittany Coleman Rushing of Brookhaven is going on until 5 p.m. today in Railroad Park, downtown Brookhaven.
Rushing is battling cancer. Lindsey Smith of Hurst Review — the company sponsoring the drive — said more than 50 people donated blood one week ago for the hometown woman battling cancer, and several people had to be turned away for lack of space and time. So two Mississippi Blood Services buses returned Monday morning to give potential donors another five hours to contribute.
Sixty-five people pre-registered to donate and appointment times are still available — 4:15 will be the last time slot. T-shirts are also available for sale with proceeds going to Rushing’s medical expenses.
