Just after 1 p.m. Friday, a school bus and a passenger vehicle collided at the intersection of North Second and East Enterprise streets in Brookhaven.

The front of Brookhaven School District Bus 223 met the passenger side of a silver Buick SUV, leaving both vehicles blocking most of the intersection.

Brookhaven Police Department officers directed traffic through the northwest corner of the intersection as others assessed the scene and took statements from potential witnesses.

“Did anyone actually see what happened?” Sgt. Jonathan Hart asked people standing in the parking lot of Reeves Service Station. No one said they had.

King’s Daughters Medical Center Ambulance Service personnel checked the occupants of both vehicles. BPD Chief Kenneth Collins said no one sustained injuries in the wreck.

“Thank God, everybody is OK,” Collins said.
