2 injured in Tuesday I-55 crash

Two men were injured in a one-vehicle crash Tuesday morning in Lincoln County.
At approximately 7:17 a.m., the Mississippi Highway Patrol responded to a single-vehicle wreck on Interstate 55 southbound, south of exit 38.
A 2001 Mack transport truck driven by Leedric Gardner, 23, of Brandon, was traveling south on I-55 when Gardner lost control of the vehicle and collided with a tree, according to MHP Troop M Cpl. Craig James. He received severe injuries from the crash and was airlifted to the University of Mississippi Medical Center.
Gardner’s passenger, Evan Brannan, 31, of Florence, received minor injuries and was transported by ambulance to King’s Daughters Medical Center in Brookhaven.
The crash remains under investigation by MHP.
