The Loyd Star Hornets defended their homecourt last week and finished with a 3-0 record to take the championship trophy at the 2021 Lincoln County Basketball Tournament. Coach Seth Britt’s team beat West Lincoln 59-40 on Tuesday, Enterprise 51-33 on Thursday and Bogue Chitto 59-48 on Friday. The Hornets (4-6) will host Wesson on Dec. 14 and wrap up their games before Christmas break by traveling to Lawrence County on Dec. 16. COVID-19 forced the cancellation of the 2020 LC basketball tournament.
