Heucks Retreat Volunteer Fire Department fire fighters responded to a house fire on Evon Lane early Tuesday morning, according to Lincoln County Emergency Management Director Chris Reid.

While the cause of the fire was not yet known Tuesday, the damage to the home was extensive.

“It probably will be a total loss,” Reid said. “(The house) is still standing but inside had heavy fire and smoke damage.”

Reid said no one was injured in the fire or during the fire department’s response. It was the first fire of the year in Lincoln County.
