Lawrence County schools to go virtual Tuesday due to weather concerns

Lawrence County schools will move to virtual learning Tuesday due to predicted severe weather.
“Out of safety concerns for all, students and staff should not report to school campuses or offices,” a notice from the district office read midday Monday. “In the event widespread power outages prohibit virtual instruction, it may be necessary to make up this day at a later date. Please stay safe and weather aware during this time.”
Classes and office hours are set to resume Wednesday.
Though forecasts are being closely monitored by Brookhaven and Lincoln County School District leadership, there were no plans as of early Monday afternoon to go to virtual schedules on Tuesday.
