Loyd Star seventh-grade pitcher Layla Burt tossed a perfect game Monday in a 11-0 win over Bogue Chitto. Burt struck out eight while giving up no hits and issuing no walks. She needed 56 pitches to get through five innings of work.

Leadoff batter Carson Hughey drove in three runs on three hits for Loyd Star. Burt also had two RBIs while Abby Burnette, Alyssa Leggett and Macy East had one run driven in apiece. Loyd Star is now 14-3 on the season with the win.
