One person was injured Monday when the Interstate Battery truck he was driving wrecked on Hwy. 51.

At approximately 2 p.m., the driver of the transport truck lost control of the vehicle as he was traveling southbound on Hwy. 51 south of Bogue Chitto, causing the truck to overturn.

Mississippi Highway Patrol Troopers responded, along with local first responders.

The driver received minor injuries, but nothing caught on fire, according to Brookhaven Fire Department Chief Jeff Ainsworth.

The wreck caused the highway to be blocked for about three hours, according to MHP Cpl. Craig James, and traffic was diverted around the area.

The crash remains under investigation by MHP.
