The 2022 Summer Concert Series kicks off Saturday with The Tyler Bridge Band.
A local favorite — and winner of The Daily Leader’s 2021 Best of the Best Local Band — the five-piece band will take the stage at 7 p.m. and perform for a couple of hours.
“We play some of the familiar favorites,” Tyler Bridge said, “but we also try to pick songs that not every other band does.”
The new Railroad Park Stage will be christened by classic rock-n-roll as the band — Ron Donegan, Shelley Smith, Scott Shaw, and brothers Tyler and Nick Bridge — plays favorites from the 1960s, ’70s and ’80s.
“We are anxious to break that thing in and hope to be the first of many folks to play on that stage,” Bridge said.
Sponsored by the Brookhaven-Lincoln County Chamber of Commerce, the free event is open to the public. A lawn chair and a music-loving spirit are all that’s needed.
“We are excited about it. Any chance to play downtown is always a fun time to see people getting together for a happy occasion, and see neighbors and people visiting,” Bridge said. “And that’s they way it should be in a small town.”
