The deadline to apply for the 2022 Miss Merry Christmas Contest is fast approaching.

Applications, available online at BrookhavenChamber.org, must be completed and submitted no later than 4 p.m., Thursday, Nov. 3. There is a $20 entrance fee.

The contest will take place the following Monday at 6 p.m. at the Brookhaven-Lincoln County Chamber of Commerce, 230 South Whitworth Ave.

Girls who are residents of Lincoln County and are high school seniors or enrolled in college, up to age 20, may apply. Contestants will be judged on the following criteria: personality; poise and appearance; Sunday attire; and interview.

The winner will be involved in the Chamber’s Christmas Open House, Saturday, Nov. 12, and the Christmas Parade, Thursday, Dec. 1. She will also make other appearances, to be announced at a later date.

The 2021 Miss Merry Christmas was Cannon Jordan. Other recent winners include Katie Sproles, 2020; Abby Gayle Smith, 2019; Aly Floyd, 2018; and Allie Claire Townsend, 2017.
