Dress-up Days for the week have been: HOMErun (favorite sport) on Monday; Lions, Tigers and Bears, OH MY (favorite animal) on Tuesday; and Somewhere Over the Rainbow (brightest colors) Wednesday.

Thursday’s theme is “It’s a Twister! It’s a Twister!” Students should dress wackily, like they have been in a tornado. No ripped clothes, though. Friday’s theme is “There’s No Place Like Home;” students should wear red and blue.

Friday is a 60 percent day. The Panthers will host the Natchez High School Bulldogs for the game, starting at 7 p.m.

At 6 p.m., the homecoming court will be presented, and the queen announced and crowned. During halftime, rings will be presented to the state tennis champions.

“It’s always exciting to see everyone come back for homecoming,” Brookhaven Schools Superintendent Rod Henderson said. “We have classes that come back all the way back from the ’40s. It’s been a blessing. Being a graduate myself, 1990, I know how special homecoming is.”

Henderson said the students at BHS have a lot of talent they are putting on display in this year’s homecoming production.

“It’s a wonderful job the students do on the production, and a wonderful job our sponsors and teachers do in preparing the students for it,” he said. “It’s a great presentation.”

A special presentation of the production will be Friday 3-4:30 p.m. for BHS alumni, in the school’s auditorium.
