West Lincoln powerlifting coach Brad Bland had two of his student-athletes make the podium at the recent MHSAA 2A State Powerlifting Championship in the Mississippi Coliseum.

In the 308-pound weight class, junior Zackary Taylor had a three-lift total of 1,255 pounds to finish in third place. Taylor squatted 485-pounds, benched 250 pounds and deadlifted 520-pounds.

In the 198-pound weight class, freshman Braden Hamm had a three-lift toal of 1,235 pounds to finish in third place. Hamm squatted 470-pounds, benched 290 pounds and deadlifted 475-pounds.

Both Taylor and Hamm are also standouts on the football field for the Bears.
