Brookhaven High alum Madi Miller earns All-Conference honors for Belhaven softball

In her time as first a Brookhaven High Panther and then as a Copiah-Lincoln Wolf, Madi Miller built a reputation as a player that lived on the basepaths.

That’s continued as Miller is now in her first season as an outfielder for the Belhaven University Blazers.

Miller was recently selected Collegiate Conference of the South (CCS) All-Conference after helping to lead the Blazers to the CCS regular season crown.

Starting in center field and batting leadoff, Miller was picked Second Team All-Conference after batting .357 with 45 hits during regular season play. She smacked four triples and stole 19 bases for coach Kevin Griffin. Miller also had 15 multi-hit games for Belhaven in 2023.

Belhaven (28-11) swept Maryville (Tn.) last week to earn the first-ever CCS tournament championship. Miller had a three-hit performance in the second game of the series against Maryville.

Miller isn’t the only BHS and Co-Lin product on the Belhaven roster as Macy Ziskin checks both those boxes and starts at shortstop for the Blazers. Ziskin hit a double in the opener against Maryville and drove in an RBI in game two

Infielder Morgan Smith is another local product on the Belhaven roster. Smith prepped at Brookhaven Academy and then played at Southwest Mississippi CC before transferring to BU.

Belhaven now waits until the teams and seeds for the NCAA Division III softball championship tournament are announced.
