The Wesson Garden Club and the American Legion Drane-Prine Post 79 joined together to honor and remember those that gave the ultimate sacrifice for freedom with two wreath laying ceremonies.

Garden club members joined the Legionnaires and Auxiliary members at their Memorial Day ceremony as World War II veteran Alton Ricks and Auxiliary member Melnee Frazier placed a memorial wreath at the flag pole at the Post to remember the POW/MIAs and fallen comrades in arms. 

Afterward, guests, veterans, members, and city officials joined the American Legion and the garden club at its 3rd Annual Memorial Day Wreath Laying ceremony at the Blue Star Memorial. Post Commander Bobby Thornton, Auxiliary member Kim Whittington and Wesson Garden Club President Dixie Thornton placed the memorial wreath at the Blue Star Marker.
