A thank you to the City of Brookhaven

We would like to thank the City of Brookhaven for a great Juneteenth parade!
Dr. Rico Cain and the Brookhaven/Lincoln County NAACP would like to thank all the participants in the Juneteenth celebration 2023. From the smiles on everyone’s faces, it was evident the community was excited and really enjoyed this year’s parade.
We would like to thank our city officials, Brookhaven Police Department, Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office, Brookhaven Fire Department, and a host of businesses and sponsors that gave candy and donations to help this year’s Juneteenth parade be a success.
We look forward to a bigger and greater parade next year and would like to invite all of this year’s participants to join us again. We apologize for any mix-ups or miscommunications that were experienced during this year’s parade.
The Brookhaven/Lincoln County NAACP’s goal is to maintain its mindset and mission and we are thankful for all those who were able to donate the $10 fee for the parade. This donation helps us in our continued efforts of “good trouble,” in the words of the late, great U.S. Rep. John Lewis. We want to continue our fight for freedom and against all injustices in our communities. If you would like to become a part of the local NAACP, contact me for further information.
Thank you,
Dr. Rico Cain.
