Two people were arrested Wednesday in Lawrence County and face firearms and drug charges.

Lawrence County Sheriff’s Office deputies and Mississippi Department of Corrections agents executed a search warrant at 405 Carmel New Hope Road. The search resulted in two arrests for possession of controlled substance while in possession of a firearm, possession of a firearm by a convicted felon, and possession of a counterfeit substance with intent to distribute.

“Names are being withheld at this time for further investigation,” Sheriff Ryan Everett said.
