At approximately 12:14 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 6, Mississippi Highway Patrol Troop M troopers responded to a crash at the intersection of Hwy. 48 and Hwy. 24 in Amite County.

A 2020 Western Star tractor/trailer driven by 62-year-old Roy D. Perkins, of Centreville, was traveling east on Hwy. 24 when it collided with a 2016 Dodge Charger driven by 22-year-old Antwuan L. Coleman, of McComb. Coleman was traveling west on Hwy. 48.

Coleman received fatal injuries from the crash and was pronounced dead on the scene.

The crash remains under investigation by MHP.
