BROOKHAVEN — Two new business locations were issued food permits by the Mississippi Department of Health this week. One of the permits means K&B Seafood will open up this week.
The Mississippi Department of Health issued a food permit for K&B Seafood and the restaurant passed its first health inspection at 526 US51 South in Brookhaven. K&B is not new to Brookhaven but the location on US51 South is new. The building offers tables for people to sit and enjoy a meal.
K&B Seafood shared it “will open our doors Friday morning at 11am-6pm,” in a Facebook post. The drive thru will be closed until further notice and a grand opening date will be announced at a later time.
Bowie Bar-B-Que passed a health inspection Tuesday. A log cabin style building, the restaurant is located at 333 Magee Drive and earned its 10th A since 2016.
A new construction food permit was issued for Mississippi Ice Wednesday. The permit is part of the process for the frozen daiquiri shop to open up. Mississippi Ice will have to get a liquor license to sell frozen daiquiris.
Food, beer and other liquor will be served at Mississippi Ice and the plans are for it to be themed like a sports bar. Owner Mark LeBlanc said the name of the company comes from a packaged ice company he owned in Brookhaven.
