Warrants issued for Brookhaven convenience store burglary suspects

On Aug. 17, at approximately 3:47 a.m., Brookhaven Police officers responded to a burglary alarm at A1 Stop, 701 Hwy. 51.

Upon arrival, officers discovered the front door had been forcibly entered. The individuals responsible for the burglary had already fled the scene.

Surveillance video footage revealed two suspects entering the store and stealing various items. The duo then left the scene in a Ford Fusion.

Through collaborative work with the Copiah County Sheriff’s Office and Hazlehurst Police Department, the identities of the suspects were established, according to BPD M. Sgt. Jonathan Hart. The suspects are also wanted for break-ins in Hazlehurst and warrants have been issued for their arrests.

“We want to thank Copiah County Sheriff’s Office and Hazlehurst Police Department for their assistance in this case,” Chief Kenneth Collins said.
