A Friday morning crash in Walthall County has claimed the life of a Tylertown motorist.

At approximately 4:41 a.m. Friday, Oct. 6, the Mississippi Highway Patrol responded to a crash on Hwy. 27, according to Troop M Cpl. Craig James.

A 2000 Jeep Grand Cherokee, driven by 35-year-old Nancy Gonzalez-Zelay of Tylertown, was traveling south on Hwy. 27 when it collided with a 2012 Toyota CRW, driven by 71-year-old Annie Magee of Tylertown, as it traveled north on Hwy. 27.

Gonzalez-Zelay suffered fatal injuries from the crash and was pronounced dead on the scene.

The crash remains under investigation by MHP.
