BROOKHAVEN — Mississippi Ice held a soft opening Friday and opened for its first full day of business Saturday dishing out seafood poboys, frozen daiquiris and good times. Brookhaven resident Mark LeBlanc is the owner.

Mississippi Ice received its liquor license from the Mississippi Alcoholic Beverage Control. The Brookhaven Board of Aldermen approved a beer permit request last Tuesday with no objections.

LeBlanc said he hopes to offer something new and different in Brookhaven in an article published in August. Mississippi Ice can be found at 214 South Whitworth Avenue next to Serio’s and Magnolia Blues.

The shop will be open from 4 to 10 p.m. Thursday and Friday with the exception of Saturdays. College football fans, shoppers and restaurant goers can enjoy Mississippi Ice from 11a.m. to 11 p.m. on Saturdays.
