Brookhaven Academy senior quarterback Samuel Evans made his last game on R.M. “Red” Stuard Field one to remember on Friday. Evans rushed for 303 yards and six touchdowns in leading the Cougars to a 49-26 win over Amite School Center.

Evans is a good example of how athleticism translates from one sport to the other. He’d not played football since junior high as his primary sport grew to be baseball in high school.

If you watched him play quarterback this season for coach Reggie Lea’s team, then you would never have guessed that Evans was so light on experience. He also passed for 54 yards in the win over ASC.
