A portion of U.S. Hwy. 98 in Franklin County will be closed from Monday, Nov. 6, until July 2026 to replace a bridge over the Homochitto River.

The closure will begin at 8 a.m. Monday, with detour signage in place. Drivers will need to plan ahead for alternate routes, and are encouraged to be on high alert for roadside workers.

The Mississippi Department of Transportation will close Hwy. 98 to through traffic from Berrytown Road to State Route 556. Crews will be staged at the Homochitto River Bridge.
