These are the General Election unofficial results for Lincoln County, including 799 absentee ballots. As of Wednesday night, 27 mail-in ballots had not yet been received. Of Lincoln County’s 21,090 registered voters, 10,556 cast ballots — just 50.05%.

 

Contested races

Sheriff Steve Rushing was reelected with 49.1 percent of the vote (5,429 votes). Willie Gayten Sr. followed with 28 percent (3,107 votes). Leslie Falvey had 1,291 and Henry G. Simmons Jr. had 1,229.

In the District Attorney’s race, Assistant DA Brendon Adams won Lincoln County with 7,755 votes (69 percent) to Patrick Earl Beasley’s 3,463 (31 percent). Adams won the tri-county seat with 59 percent of the total votes from Lincoln, Pike and Walthall counties.

In the Lincoln County Coroner face-off, Blake William Wallace won with 7,478 votes (70 percent) against Sherry Bowman Bessonette’s  votes (29 percent).

District 1 Supervisor Jerry L. Wilson kept his seat with 1,598 votes (75 percent) against Donnie “Speedy” Hedgepeth’s 540.

In the District 3 race, John David Hart took 87 percent of the vote (1,910 votes) and Jason McDonald took 13 percent (291 votes).

Justice Court Judge Post 2 Roger Martin kept the bench with 3,312 votes (59 percent) to challenger Shane Banks’ 2,279 votes.

Constable Post 2 went to Wade Hinshaw, with 3,350 votes (60 percent) to Michael C. Harvey’s 2,250 votes.

State level races will be decided after all 81 counties submit totals to the Secretary of State’s office.
