Wednesday, Gov. Tate Reeves lifted the burn ban that had covered most of the state, effective Thursday, Nov. 16.

“At this time the county does not have a burn ban in place,” said Lincoln County Emergency Management Director Chris Reid. “We will revaluate the conditions early next week and look at the weather forecast moving forward. Even though the ban will be lifted conditions are still favorable for fire to spread quickly. Just remember you are responsible for any damages that may occur if you set a fire and it gets out of control.”
