LITTLE BAHALA — A tornado struck the Little Bahala community again this year. The National Weather Service in Jackson reported six tornadoes touched down in Mississippi Monday night and one touched down in Catahoula Parish.

Mississippi has seen 56 tornadoes in 2023 and the NWS Jackson coverage area, comprising southern Arkansas, Northeastern Louisiana and most of Mississippi, has seen 41 tornadoes in 2023. Fortunately, no injuries or deaths were reported from Monday’s storms.

Little Bahala had a tornado in February during a round of severe storms. Church members came together to help a widow in the aftermath of that storm.
