Two vehicles have been reported stolen in recent days from a local auto dealership.
Stan King Chevrolet reported one on Friday, Nov. 24, and another on Wednesday, Nov. 29.
The first report was made to Brookhaven Police at 11:48 a.m., that a 2022 GMC Sierra pickup had been taken. Security video from approximately 8 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 22, showed what appeared to be a fully-covered male enter the vehicle and leave the lot with it through an unsecured exit, according to Assistant Chief Clint Earls.
The suspect is believed to have used a black market device to bypass the truck’s security system, unlocking the vehicle and starting the ignition.
On Nov. 29, the dealership reported to BPD that a vehicle left for service could not be located. Video taken in the early hours of either Nov. 23 or 24 showed a 2015 Cadillac Escalade taken in the same way as the Sierra. The suspect on the footage appears to be the same individual, Earls said.
Both vehicles and incident reports have been entered into the National Crime Information Center (NCIC) system. Anyone with information is asked to call BPD at 601-833-2424.
