Another alum of the Brookhaven High football program is headed to play Division I football as offensive lineman Zerian Hudson signed with the Troy University Trojans on Wednesday.

The 6-foot-3, 315-pound Hudson played the last two seasons at Mississippi Gulf Coast Community College after enrolling early with the Bulldogs following high school.

During his prep career, Hudson was tabbed Daily Leader All-Area, MAC All-State and selected to play in the Mississippi-Alabama All-Star game.

Hudson is joining a Troy program that is two-time defending Sun Belt Conference champions. Just this week the school announced it had hired Gerad Parker, offensive coordinator at Notre Dame, as its next head football coach. Parker replaces Jon Sumrall, who left Troy after two seasons to become head coach at Tulane.

Gulf Coast went 14-6 during Hudson’s time suiting up for the Bulldogs. Another MGCCC player with Brookhaven ties, Dramarian McNulty, signed to play next at Eastern Michigan. A defensive back, he is the son of former Brookhaven High standout Ronnie McNulty. Dramarian played high school football at Niceville High in Florida and initially signed with Western Carolina before transferring to Gulf Coast.
