Lawrence County Schools will dismiss early today, Monday, Jan. 8, due to expected severe weather conditions.

Monticello Elementary School, Rod Paige Middle School, New Hebron Attendance Center, and Topeka Tilton Attendance Center will dismiss at 1:30 p.m. Lawrence County High School will dismiss at 1:45 p.m.

Wind gusts of 40-50 miles per hour are expected by 3 p.m., which will create unsafe conditions for school buses.

“Please stay safe and weather aware. Any further updates will be posted as soon as information becomes available,” said district Family and Community Engagement Specialist Kelsey Lambert.
