The Brookhaven and Lincoln County School Districts will be closed Tuesday, Jan. 16, due to the possibility of dangerous winter weather. Brookhaven Academy and Lawrence County schools and offices will also be closed Tuesday due to the expected weather conditions.

“We will continue to monitor conditions throughout tomorrow regarding the status of school on Wednesday,” said Brookhaven Superintendent Rod Henderson. “Please check our website and school media platforms for continued updates.”

“We have been in contact with local emergency management concerning the incoming weather and potential issues that could arise,” Lincoln County Superintendent David Martin said. “We will monitor the conditions concerning a decision for Wednesday.”
