It’s been 20 up and now 20 down for the Bogue Chitto girls’ basketball team. The Bobcats are now 20-0 after defeating host Loyd Star 58-22 on Thursday in a Region 7-2A pairing.

Senior center and Southern University signee De’Mya Porter led Bogue Chitto with 21 points.

Bobcat head coach Marc Howard also got 13 points from sophomore Destinee Thompson and 12 points from senior Ty May. Junior guard Neeli Magee chipped in six points for BC while Kinley Wisinger and Layla McKnight added three points each.

BC has won its first four Region 7-2A games by an average of 31.5 points.

Loyd Star (7-7) and coach Russell Cruise got six points from Lydia Bass, five points from Maddie Kate Britt, three points from Sydnie Cruise and two points each from Avery Sellers, Madison Altman and Josie Breakfield.

Bogue Chitto will host Wilkinson County on Friday while Loyd Star plays at West Lincoln.
