A Bogue Chitto family has started a GoFundMe account to raise funds to offset the cost of their 18-year-old son’s funeral.

Titus Holmes, a Bogue Chitto Attendance Center graduate and former baseball and football player, was killed in a wreck Sunday, Feb. 18. His mother, Stephanie Holmes, posted the following plea on the fundraising site.

“My husband Tim (Local 37) and I lost our son Titus Brady Holmes in a car accident … He was 18 years old and living life to the fullest. We did not have life insurance on Titus and are now faced with the burden of a funeral. The most basic ones can be very costly. We are reaching out with this goal to help cover the cost of the funeral and final resting place. Any funds over the cost of the funeral will be used in setting up a memorial scholarship for anyone from his high school that is going into the trades.”
