The calendar might read 2024, but it’s not too far into the year to brag on the accomplishments of the Alexander Junior High School basketball teams that wrapped up their seasons at the end of 2023.

The AJH eighth-grade boys’ team did not lose a game this year for a second straight season. Members of the team who went undefeated over that two years period were Tanner Hardy, Johnnie Crump, Tryston Prather and Landon Newman. The AJH boys’ basketball teams are led by head coach Tony Gibbs and assistant coach EJ Henderson.

The AJH eighth-grade girls’ team finished 11-1 for head coach Markeyta Wilson and assistant coach Natashia Gamble, losing by two in overtime to Franklin County in their lone defeat of the season.
