BROOKHAVEN — Starbucks took one step closer to opening in Brookhaven this week. The Mississippi Department of Health reported a new food permit was issued for the coffee shop on February 29. 

The inspection was not shown in the database until Tuesday. The permit is classified as new construction according to the Mississippi Department of Health. 

Starbucks is set to open at 879 Brookway Boulevard in front of Paul Barnett Nissan. A banner outside the coffee shop says “Coming Soon!” With furniture and umbrellas all set up. 

The store number for the new Starbucks will be 78427 according to the health inspection.
