2023-2024 All-Area Soccer Girls’ Team

Reagan Fortenberry,

Brookhaven Academy

A senior, Fortenberry led the Cougars to a 19-4-3 record and the first postseason win in program history. A Copiah-Lincoln CC soccer signee and repeat All-Area selection, Fortenberry used her strength and athleticism to score a team best 37 goals while assisting on nine more goals for coach Alex Brown.

Maddie Henning,

Brookhaven High

A freshman, Henning and her efforts on the defensive side of the field helped Brookhaven High win a program best 17 matches this season. Expect Henning to only improve on the backline for coach Dustin Bairfield as the Panthers return nearly their entire roster next season after going 17-6 and making the MHSAA 5A playoffs in 2023-2024. Henning and her defensive mates helped BHS post nine shutouts this season.

 

Adi Holcomb,

Loyd Star

A freshman, Holcomb was first on the team with 11 assists and second with 14 goals for coach Jordan Lea and a Loyd Star team that finished 16-6 while winning Region 7-Class I. Holcomb made her varsity debut last season and scored 11 goals as an eighth grader and she’ll be counted on even more next season as the leading returning scorer on the roster.

 

Isabella Iles,

Brookhaven High

A freshman, Iles finished as one of the leaders in goals and assists for coach Dustin Bairfield and a Panther squad that went 17-6. A talented distance runner who also excels in cross-country and track, Iles used her large lung capacity to keep moving on the pitch while scoring 19 goals and being in on 12 assists for Brookhaven High.

 

Macy Loy,

Wesson

A sophomore, Loy joined the Wesson soccer team in 2023-2024 and instantly made an impact in the midfield. A strong athlete, Loy was a leader in assists for Wesson coach Amanda Bergeron and a Cobra team that finished 7-8 overall and made the MHSAA Class I playoffs.

 

Mallory Martin,

Brookhaven Academy

A senior, Martin led Brookhaven Academy in assists while helping the program finish with a 19-4-3 record that included a playoff win. A Southwest Mississippi CC signee, Martin also scored 18 goals and was named All-Area as a sophomore, junior and senior for coach Alex Brown.

 

Ainsley Orr,

Brookhaven Academy

A junior, Orr is a repeat All-Area selection after another standout season in goal by her helped push Brookhaven Academy to a 19-4-3 overall record and playoff appearance. Orr had 16 shutouts, made four saves on penalty kicks and had 53 total saves for coach Alex Brown and the Cougars.

 

Lari Jayne Reed,

West Lincoln

A senior, Reed played center defensive back and played it well for coach Dane Hodges and the West Lincoln Bears. A tenacious player, Reed finished with five goals and one assist on offense, but her play on the back line was a big part of West Lincoln finishing 6-11 and making the MHSAA Region I playoffs.

 

Samantha Reed,

Loyd Star

A freshman, Reed has established herself as a stalwart in goal for the Loyd Star soccer program. She made 93 saves and gave up 20 goals on 113 shots for coach Jordan Lea and a LS squad that finished 16-6. Reed had 12 clean sheets, which pushed her to 23 career shutouts in two seasons as a starter.

 

Chloe Rodriquez,

Loyd Star

A junior, Rodriquez was once again a foundational piece of the backline for Loyd Star coach Jordan Lea. A repeat All-Area selection, Rodriquez scored four goals and broke a program record for career steals as the Hornets finished 16-6 overall and won Region 7-Class I, of which she was named Defensive MVP.

 

Eliza Smith,

Brookhaven High

A freshman, Smith helped lead the Brookhaven High offense with 19 goals and 16 assists in 2023-2024. Versatile and especially crafty with the ball in set pieces, Smith, coach Dustin Bairfield and the Panthers finish with a 17-6 record that included a MHSAA 5A first round playoff matchup with East Central.

 

Kyndra Quinn,

Bogue Chitto

A sophomore, Quinn scored a team best 18 goals for coach Shane Nippe and the Bogue Chitto Bobcats. Quinn and her ability to get the ball in the net was a big part of Bogue Chitto finished 8-8-1 in 2023-2024. She also topped the team with eight assists this season.
