Randy Crisler, 

Bogue Chitto

A sophomore, Crisler averaged 9.7 points and 8.9 rebounds per game while providing the power in the paint for a Bogue Chitto team that went 29-2 and finished as MHSAA 2A runners-up. A 6-foot, 230-pound forward, Crisler overcame a knee injury suffered in football season to provide a physical inside presence for coach Marc Howard and the Bobcats once again after being a freshman starter last season.

 

 Carter Davis, 

Brookhaven Academy

A junior, Davis averaged a team best 14.9 points per game for coach Josh Watts and a Brookhaven Academy program that finished 16-15 in 2023-2024. Davis arrived at BA after previously playing high school basketball in Texas and made an immediate impact with his scoring ability. A 6-foot-3 combo guard, Davis averaged 4.5 rebounds, 1.1 assists and 1.1 steals per game while often facing defenses schemed to slow him down.

 

Jaylen Haliburton, 

Brookhaven High

A senior, Haliburton averaged a team high 18.0 points per game for coach Charlton Grey and a Brookhaven High team that finished 22-7. A repeat All-Area selection, Haliburton has signed to next play at Southwest Mississippi Community College. A natural scorer, the 6-foot-2 Haliburton eclipsed 1,000 career points as a senior to help lead the Panthers to the MHSAA 5A quarterfinals.

 

Jacavious Jefferson,

Lawrence County

A junior, Jefferson averaged 12.3 points per game for coach Pat Barnes and a Lawrence County team that finished 13-16. Jefferson and the Cougars improved throughout the season to finish second in Region 7-4A. The 6-foot guard also added 5.1 rebounds. 4.2 assists and 3.3 steals per game to pace the Cougars on the court in 2023-2024.

 

Shomari Jenkins, 

Bogue Chitto

A senior, Jenkins averaged 11.1 points per game for coach Marc Howard and a Bogue Chitto team that finished 29-2 overall. A three-time All-Area selection who played point guard and served as a perimeter threat for the Bobcats, Jenkins kept the BC transition game going by averaging 4.4 assists and 3.6 steals per game. The lone senior starter, replacing his leadership will be a big hole for the Bobcats to fill next season.

 

Noah Magee, 

Bogue Chitto

A junior, Magee averaged 15.4 points per game for coach Marc Howard and a Bogue Chitto squad that finished 29-2 overall. A repeat All-Area selection, the 6-foot-5 Magee has the ability to shoot over defenders and can finish above the rim in transition or the half court. One of the top rebounders on the team, Magee also adds the ability to protect the rim as a shot blocker for the Bogue Chitto defense. Will be counted on as a senior leader next season for the Bobcats.

 

Landon McNickles,

Enterprise

A junior, McNickles averaged a team best 16.4 points per game for coach Rusty Newman and an Enterprise team that finished 12-13. A repeat All-Area selection, McNickles is also a standout quarterback for the Yellow Jackets on the football field. A 6-foot guard, McNickles used his strength to pull down 7.3 rebounds per game and hand out 4.1 assists per game as Enterprise broke a long dry spell by hosting a home playoff game in 2024.

 

Nathan Mills, 

Loyd Star

A senior, Mills averaged a team best 17.3 points per game for coach Seth Britt and a Loyd Star team that finished 18-7. Mills also juggled playing soccer this season, where he was also picked for the All-Area team in that sport. A repeat All-Area selection, Mills ended his hoops career by again showing off a versatile skill set. A 6-foot-2 wing, Mills averaged 5.7 rebounds, 3.2 assists and 2.3 steals per game for the Hornets.

 

Colby Terrell, 

Loyd Star

A senior, Terrell averaged 16.2 points and 9.1 rebounds per game for coach Seth Britt and a Loyd Star team that finished 18-7. A three-time All-Area selection, Terrell was again an inside/outside threat for the Hornets. A 6-foot-3 forward, Terrell averaged 1.7 assists per game and topped 1,000 career points during the season for the Hornets after being a four-year starter.

 

Caden Yarborough, 

Loyd Star

A senior, Yarborough averaged a career best 12.3 points per game for coach Seth Britt and a Loyd Star program that finished 18-7 and runners-up in Region 7-2A. Yarborough had the best season of his career by becoming a strong outside threat for the Hornets as he hit eight 3-pointers in a win over Silliman Institute. A 6-foot-1 guard, Yarborough also averaged 3.8 rebounds, 2.9 assists and 1.5 steals per game.
