Brookhaven police will conduct an active shooter drill this morning at Lincoln Residential Center, 524 Brookman Drive, at 10 a.m.

The center must conduct a drill periodically as part of its certification process, said BPD Special Response Team Commander Jonathan Hart. The drill will also provide city officers with an opportunity for continued training, he said.

“With everything that happened yesterday, we don’t want the public to be alarmed when we roll out to conduct this drill,” Hart said, referencing the four-hour manhunt Thursday afternoon for a man who shot at a police officer.
