Despite the threat of rain, more than 120 people attended a National Day of Prayer ceremony in front of the Lincoln County/Brookhaven Government Complex Thursday, May 2, at noon.

World War II veteran Alton Ricks led the Pledge of Allegiance as the Brookhaven High School ROTC presented the flag, followed by the performance of the National Anthem by the Bogue Chitto High School Band, led by Drew Different.

Mayor Joe Cox read a proclamation from the City of Brookhaven and the program was led by Rev. David Williams, director of the Lincoln Baptist Association.
