A log truck turning south from West Monticello Street onto South Jackson took down city street signs and a concrete light pole just after noon Tuesday.

According to witnesses at the Lincoln County Public Library on the corner of the two streets, the truck never stopped.

Police are looking for the vehicle in the property hit-and-run.

City Public Works Director Kris Xifos said his department would replace the street signs, and Mississippi Department of Transportation had been contacted to replace the pole. An MDOT representative was on site shortly thereafter to assess the damage.
