More than 1,000 customers were without electricity Wednesday afternoon in Brookhaven for approximately 30 minutes.

Entergy Mississippi reported outages along Hwy. 51 from Hwy. 550 at its northernmost point, down to Hwy. 84. Businesses and homes from South Jackson Street west along Zetus Road and Brookway Boulevard were without power, as well as the majority of streets in the Vernondale neighborhood, and side streets from Brookway to Natchez Drive.

Lincoln County dispatch had received no calls as to a fire, wreck or other incident causing the outage.

As of 4:45 p.m., power had been restored to all affected areas. Entergy has not stated the cause of the problem.
