Funeral Services for John Mathis Henderson of Brookhaven are 11 a.m. on Saturday, Sept. 6, 2014, at Siloam M.B. Church with burial in the church cemetery. Williams Mortuary is in charge of arrangements.

Visitation is Friday, Sept. 5, 2014, from 1 until 7 p.m. at Williams Mortuary. The family hour is from 6 until 7 p.m. on the same day.

Mr. Henderson, 75, died Aug. 26, 2014, at the University of Mississippi Medical Center in Jackson. He was born on April 2, 1939, in Lincoln County to Robert Henderson Sr. and Margaret Nadine Henderson Moore.

Preceding him in death were his parents; stepfather, Sullivan Moore; brother, Robert Henderson Jr.; grandparents, John and Ada Calcote Motley and Mathis and Annie Sanders Henderson; aunt and uncle, David and Lena Henderson.

Survivors are his daughters, Gayle (Sammie) Blue of Brookhaven, Thersa (Corey Hilson) Henderson of Champaign, Illinois, Eydie Henderson Dix of Ranpoul, Illinois; sons, Robert (Linda) Henderson, John (Misty) Henderson, Chris McNulty, all of Brookhaven; sister, Patricia Ann Boyd of Los Angeles, California; aunts, Vera “Peggy” Thomas of Fort Smith, Arkansas, Jessie Allen and Bessie Poole, both of Chicago, Illinois; uncle, Enoc (Alcola) Motley of Chicago, Illinois; stepdaughter, Tomoraa Allen of Brookhaven; 16 grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren; special cousins, Carolyn Crump, Vickie Powell, David Douglas Smith, all of Brookhaven; and special friends, Edwin E. Stolpe Jr., Paul Curtis (Sylvia) Smith, both of Brookhaven, and the Siloam Society.
