Man jailed after gun fired at Bumpers

A man is in jail following a firearm discharge at Bumpers on Sunday.

Sunday, the Brookhaven Police Department received a call in reference to shots fired at Bumpers on Highway 51 North. Brookhaven Police Chief Bobby Bell said upon arrival officers questioned several males in a vehicle who claimed they didn’t know anything. However, the officers discovered that there had been a discharge from the car.

Chief Bell said that upon first investigation officers found a 40-caliber handgun, which one of them has been playing with and discharged. The man who discharged the handgun was arrested and charged with discharging a firearm within the city limits of Brookhaven and shooting into a dwelling.

Police reports show the person arrested was Larry McIntosh, of 1050 Railroad Avenue, Georgetown. Chief Bell said the case will go before the grand jury.
