Bridge closed due to structural integrity

Q: What’s the story behind the closed bridge at the intersection of South Railroad Avenue and East Warren Avenue?

A: The bridge, which reaches across the railroad tracks from South Railroad Avenue appears to be made mostly from wood and, according to City Inspector Steve Moreton, was closed to through traffic a “long, long time ago.”

Moreton explained that the bridge was closed due to its structural integrity, but more information regarding the actual structure is scarce. The bridge is flanked on the north and south by two concrete bridges that are open to traffic.
