NATCHEZ – The Brookhaven tennis team competed in the Individual Regional 6-5A Tournament in Natchez Tuesday and had 10 players to advance to the individual State Tournament.

Those players were Madison Currie and Jacob Bozeman in singles action, Chantel Quarles, Sarah Rice Warren, Will Moak, Daniel Panzica. Caleb Owens, Jamie Sproles. Maddie Ogden and Alice Anne Walker in doubles action.

Winners and Runner-Ups in each division will advance to the Individual State Tournament, which will be held at the Madison-Ridgeland Tennis Courts on May 11-13..

In the finals of the Regional 6-5A individual action:

Madison Currie defeated Kirdis Clark 6-2, 6-2.

Jacob Bozeman defeated Brandon Butler 6-1, 6-0.

Chantel Quarles/Sarah Rice Warren defeated Maddie Ogden/Alice Anne Walker 6-4, 2-6, 6-4.

Will Moak/Daniel Panzica defeated Raheem Bivens/Amar Weir 6-1, 6-1.

Caleb Owens/Jamie Sproles defeated Vincent Bonds/Danyel Weir 6-2, 6-4.

The Ole Brook Tennis will host the first round playoff today as they battle Pascagoula at Brookhill Tennis Center, starting at 4:00.
