The Lady Cougars and the Lady Rebels battled in a close 2-2 contest in the first inning of action, before ACCS managed to take control of the game in the second inning by plating four runs to secure a 6-2 lead and held on for the victory.

“Offensively, we left 11 runners on base and defensively, we gave up five hits and four errors in one inning, but both things are correctable,” said BA coach Becky Flowers. “It’s still early enough in district play to get our mistakes and lack of focus corrected to stay in the hunt for postseason play.”

Allie Summers absorbed the setback on the mound for the Lady Cougars with three strikeouts and two walks.

Anna Grace Covington was the offensive leader at the plate for BA with two doubles. Cameron Watson provided a double. Madison Moak, Alex Rae Smith and Abeni Fuller hit safely.

In junior varsity action, ACCS defeated BA 4-1.

Madi Smith suffered the setback on the rubber for BA with four strikeouts and three walks.

Emily Claire Fielder was the top hitter at the plate for the Lady Cougars with a single.
