Lady Cougars clobber Prentiss Christian

PRENTISS – The Brookhaven Academy Lady Cougars clobbered the Prentiss Christian Lady Saints 12-1 Monday night in MAIS softball action.

In Saturday action, the Lady Cougars suffered three tough losses in the Jackson Prep softball tournament.

The Lady Cougars fell to Madison-Ridgeland Academy 2-0 in the first game, Copiah Academy 5-3 in the second game and Jackson Prep 5-2 in the finale.

BA (12-14, 3-3) will be in action today as it hosts the Amite School Center Lady Rebels for Senior Night at the Lady Cougars Softball complex. Junior varsity action begins at 5 p.m., followed by the varsity game.

BA 12, Prentiss 1 

Allison Livingston was the winning pitcher for BA with eight strikeouts and no walks.

Allison Livingston powered the Lady Cougars at the plate with a triple and a single. Anna Grace Covington contributed two doubles. Cameron Watson provided two singles. Alex Rae Smith and Kailyn Jordan hit safely

In junior varsity action, BA won 7-0. Madi Smith earned the win on the mound for the Lady Cougars with four strikeouts and two walks

Madison Moak was the top hitter at the plate with two singles. Madi Smith and Abeni Fuller hit a single each.

MRA 2, BA 0 

Allie Summers absorbed the setback on the mound for BA with three strikeouts and two walks

Alex Rae Smith led the Lady Cougars at the plate with a double. Kailyn Jordan, Anna Grace Covington, Allie Summers and Julie Anna Bartram hit safely.

Copiah Acad. 5, BA 3

Allie Summers suffered the defeat on the rubber for the Lady Cougars with three strikeouts and two walks

Anna Grace Covington, Allison Livingston, Cameron Watson and Madi Smith were the top hitters for BA with a single each.

Jackson Prep 5, BA 2 

Madi Smith pitched the final game for BA with two strikeouts and three walks.

Allie Summers was the offensive leader at the plate for the Lady Cougars with a double. Allison Livingston and Cameron Watson contributed a single each.
