The Wesson Cobras and Lady Cobras captured a pair of victories over the Brookhaven Panthers in high school soccer action Tuesday at the Hansel King Sportsplex.

In the girls’ contest, the Lady Cobras defeated the Lady Panthers 2-0.

Sophomore Amber Brinson powered the Lady Cobras with one goal and seven steals. Kim San also punched in a goal for the Lady Cobras. Arie Douglas finished with seven steals and one assist. Misty Tanksley had six steals. Brooke Jones collected five steals. Harmoni Ashley finished with five saves as Wesson’s goalie.

In boys’ action, Wesson blanked Brookhaven 4-0.

Travis Smith, Marcus Jones, Dylan Ingle and Skyler Rasberry paced the Cobras’ scoring with a goal each. Trey Fleming was the leader in the steals category with 10. Steven Dennis, Francisco Hernandez and Marcus Jones had seven steals each. Preston Middleton was solid at the goalie position for Wesson as he finished with four saves.
